About Us

Did you know for decades the Berea Community School Youth Basketball League has been providing recreational opportunities for students on Saturdays and Sundays during the winter months?

We are not the Southern Madison County Youth Basketball League (SMCYBL).  Berea Youth Basketball League is a separate entity.  Essentially, we are a league, comprised almost exclusively of students (boys & girls), with a Beginner division for grades K thru 1st, a  Rookie division for grades 2nd thru 3rd, a Junior Varsity division for grades 4th thru 5th, and a Varsity division for grades 6th thru 8th.  As always, parents may request a child play in an older division for developmental reasons or for the convenience of the household.

(Example:  a 4th grader plays in the Varsity division because he/she has a brother/sister in the 7th grade who is also participating.  If siblings are playing in the same division, then they are almost always placed on the same team unless parents request otherwise).

Our league will operate exclusively on Fridays (6:00pm-8:00pm) and Saturdays (9:00am to 7:00 P.M.).  This season we will have open slots in the gym schedule for additional practice time during the week. Even though our gym time is limited, our participants enjoy the game of basketball in an organized team setting, with their own classmates, without adding a tremendous time commitment to your household’s already hectic schedule.

Berea Youth Basketball League is a non profit organization that provides boys and girls from grades K-8 a chance to participate in a team environment, enhancing their skills and basketball knowledge.
